Coolant in oil

I don't think I'm posting in the right section on here but here it goes! I bought a 2002 E350 with the 7.3 in it. I was aware that it had coolant going into the oil before I bought it. But this van is really nice so I kinda hate to part it out and scrap it which was my original plan. I'm just curious if I'm missing any ideas on how coolant is going into the oil.

Blown head gasket
Cracked injector cups?
Someone told me it could be one of the freeze plugs inside the head blew out.

That's about all it can be isn't it?
If anyone is looking for E350 parts also let me know. I'm leaning toward just parting it out. Simply offer on whatever you want. I'm not trying to make a fortune off this thing.

It sounds like a simple oil cooler O ring job. A headgasket failure is pretty rare on a stock 7.3. Usually a cracked injector cups lead to fuel in the coolant. There are a few users on here with 7.3's approaching the 300,000 mile mark and some have 400,000 miles plus on the factory Head gaskets. The cooler O rings are about 70.00 for the set and can be done in a day with pretty basic tools.

Well sadly the previous owner of the van did have a tuner in it and he talked like he beat it once in a while. I'm going to drain the coolant to see if there is anything in it. He claimed he took the oil cooler off and that wasn't the problem but it won't hurt to check again.

The coolant was very brown? Not sure if that's what old ford Gold Coast looks like or what. But I pulled the valve covers because it has a lot of sludge and I want to clean as much of it out as possible. Ill pressure test it soon and let you know what I find out. Thanks

If the SCA level was not maintained then you could have an errosion issue. Pressure test should help confirm or rule out some possibilities. The oil cooler is the main culprit....next on the list would be perforated front cover (in extreme cases...)

Usually you will have oil in the coolant if it is the oil cooler o rings
