Canadian VIN decoding

Canadian VIN decoding
Picked up a cab for my 53-55 F100 build and here is the VIN plate that I need decoded.
I've done a bit of research and all that I've found that makes sense for decoding the numbers is the following:
4 = 8 cylinder
83 = pickup
10 = F100
10 = 110 WB
S = 1955
K = Oakville
Does that look right or should it be broken down differently?
Any insight would be appreciated!

Your vin doesn't match what my 53,54,55 books say it should be like but I do know 4 = Ford (1 = Mercury).
According to the books it should be:
41083KS-*****
Trim = 13 - is a 1953 code for Deluxe cab
Paint = 03 - Gulfstream Blue Metallic

So is there any way to decode the VIN that I have? Is it stamped wrong? How would I get the ownership papers for it?

Your decode looks correct to me as it's similar to 1965 which I can decode: 4831014L-123456A
4= V8 / 83 = Flareside Pickup / 10 = 100 Series / 14 = 114" wheelbase / L = Left Hand Drive / 123456 = 1965 Numerical Sequence of Assembly / A = 3,600-5,600 lbs. GVWR

This is the 1955 Canadian decode page from the Truck chassis and body parts book: (Borrowed it from the Mercury Pickup site rather than taking a picture of my book)
It just shows the format a bit different than your plate. What the Mercury truck site doesn't have is the next two pages in the book. In 1955 the first digit just tells if it is a ford or mercury however for 1953 and 1954 they used a three digit prefix that identified the make and series. Having the first digit say its a V-8 was redundant in these years as there was no inline six engines made before 1956 in Canada.
If Ontario is anything like Saskatchewan, you just have to go to a place of registration with what you currently have and register it. There is none of the title B/S that the states have.

Went to the ministry of transportation today and the VIN is registered as a '55. The new dilemma is that it is currently registered in someone's name, and the name is not the dude that I bought it from. I can't get a new ownership unless I get the guy on title to request a new ownership and then transfer it into my name.
Anyone ever been in a situation like this before? I literally bought just a cab with a VIN plate.
