I am trying to get the original hub caps for the 1952 Ford F-1. I will be purchasing some reproductions.
In working with some vendors, I have seen two different versions advertised for that year. One has block FORD letters. The other has a script version of FORD.

Which version was on the original '52 F-1?
Thanks
Fred
To be really correct, you need to take the block letter hubcaps, and paint them silver, with red letters. 1952 was the first year for the painted hub caps.

Wow, Chuck, I never knew that. Of course, I am more attuned to 53 to 56 trucks. I knew 53-56 trucks had painted hubcaps, due to, I believe, the Korean War effort. It would make sense that 52's had painted caps too since the war started before 1953.

Same cap on the F-3 as the F-1? In the MAC's catalog they show 2J-1130-A for a 3/4 ton.
The part numbers you use I'm assuming they are Ford original numbers? Got me wondering this morning if that's true of the numbers all the vendors of reproduced parts are using?
My understanding is the F1 has an 8" cap and the F2-3 have a 9" cap. I'm trying to find some for my F3 at the moment, apparently the repros are produced overseas and they are having production problems. Dennis Carpenter where I buy most of my bits can't supply them.
Good to know what to look for at this point. Most of what I have purchased so far has been from MAC's. Curious what rims you have? Found some Dodge 16 1/2" but the nubs are on the outside of the center hub. As i understand all the hub caps fit on the inside. I would prefer to have a 17" wheel really. Just this thing in trying to stay with what the truck had. Contacted Stocton Wheel yesterday but no response yet.
Also looking for a set of plug wires for the 239 flathead with molded ends on each end. Plus a coil that has the beige top for 6volt V8. Any hel there would be apprdciated.
I'm running F2 16" rims. I would have preffered to stay with 17" but ran out of options. I'll run an 8.25x16 tyre which will bring me back to almost the same rolling diameter as the original. At least the nubbins point the right way.
I got plug wires from Carpenters and am happy with them. I'm using the coil which was on the truck when I got it, I'll need to replace it at some point though I suppose.

Been on the Carpenter site for the last hour and a half. They show the wires I've been looking for. It says steel core is that good bad or otherwise? This looks like a cool vendor. Says the make most of their parts but the hub caps must not be one?
Dennis
Carpenters are very good but most of the stuff I've bought from them has had a made in Taiwan sticker on it. I think it's more panels and bumpers etc that they make in house.
