Anybody know where I could find tinted door and vent glass for a '79 truck? I'm looking for a grey tint, a little bit darker than the the Ford Carlite factory tint. I had them film tinted a few months back, but they are already scratched up a bit, and I'm looking to replace them with something that will not scratch or bubble up over time.
Thanks.
A local glass supplier came up with some smoke tinted glass for a '27 Ford street rod our shop is building. But those windows were flat - are our side windows flat too.
Check with local auto glass suppliers, auto body suppliers and body shop. One of those should at least point you in the right direction.
The windows are indeed flat, so custom cut ones would be "relatively" inexpensive.
If you use a high quality tinting film, it will last indefinitely. Mine has been on for several years, and still looks new. It was a high quality metallized film.......
Actually the windows do have a little curve in them. You have to go back to 72 or so before they are really flat. My tint job has held up well. Need good condition weather strip.
At least I think they are slightly curved.
