hey everyone...

how hard would it be to change my truck over to a 4x4? 1980 ford f-150 400 BB C-6 trans. Also, if i don't go with a 4x4 right now what gear ratio is best in this truck. I don't Ford ratios just yet. lol. Thanks

hey everyone...

I think the easiest way is to find a good 4x4 chassis, then just swap everything over to it. As for ratios...what size tires are you running?

What are your future plans with this truck? You going to tow with it, lift it and add big tires, etc?

towing build the engine up just a little like 4bbl sys performer intake raise the CR to 9.2;1

I have always been partial to 4.10s with the C6. Sure, you wont win any races, but youll be able to pull a house off its foundation.
You might want to check this site out. http://www.4lo.com/4LoCalc.htm You can get an idea what rpm range you will run with certain ratios and tire sizes.
