engine swap
Just found out the 400 from my 61 has a cracked block. Thinking of finding a 429/460 and swapping that in. Anyone have a 429/460 in they're truck ? If so what headers are you running ?

i would go with the 460, finding a 429 is going to be like finding a block of gold. but if you do find one, hooker comp headers bolt up nicely. just remember that they can not be bolted on the motor before it is dropped in, because in wont fit you have to do it after, and it is a big pain.

I would agree with the 460. I am curious as to the suspension system under the truck now? I think if I had leaf spring front suspension, I'd use a small block or inliner. IMHO of course.

My truck still has the original front suspension, just has the LTD crossmember for engine mounting purposes. Looks like I may have found a good 400 block to replace mine. Still thanks for the input.
