I have a 01 expedition 5.4 I love me truck I made a homemade CAI out of 3 ' exhaust ,made a box to house my k&n filter out of a rubbermade trash can , I made my ram air of of a 3 ' dryer hose and a vent total cost around 100 with the k&n filter and believe me I and you can feel the difference in power, response, acceleration, and gas mileage by 2 miles per gallon . Total time about 8 hours .
I do have some pic but I'm not sure how to put them on this blog but I can tell you this first off make sure u can do this all in one day phase one was to measure twice the distance from you intake to the air filter take that measurement to an muffler shop have him bend a 3" exhaust steel tube with to 45 instead of one 90 to make the air flow smoothly after that u want to cut the old restrictive air, make to cut it enough to keep the rubber part where your to vacumm hose are in tact about 3inches pass the hoses to allow for some play when you install the 3" exhaust piece then go to the auto part store of your choice to find an aftermarket filter ,cut the mass flow out of its houseing leaving it all in tact to hook up your air filter of your choice hook it all up and disconnect the battery to reset your computer to allow for more air flow
the easiest way is to get a photobucket account, upload them there and then post the img code for each picture in the thread.
to post the code, move the mouse over the pic and the box opens up and its the last code listed. left click the img code and it copies then right click and paste it to your thread.
