Dorr Sticker Tire Pressure?

Hello. I have a 99 xlt, 5.4, 4x4. I have owned her for about three years now and she is excellent. After more closely examining the door tag, I swear it said ft tires 30 psi cold. Rear tires 35 psi cold. I have always run on a constant 35 all around. Is there a 5 lb. difference between front and back? If so, would that cause front end suspension damage? Thanks for your help.

Yes, that is correct. My wife's Explorer also has the same pressures listed on the door sticker. I do not believe it will cause any suspension damage.

The major consequences to not running the correct PSI are irregular tire wear, reduced braking, and MPG changes.

I have a question about tire pressure and newer tires.
The door psi rating obviously referred to the original tires supplied with the vehicle.
The tires in 2000 were rated at a lower maximum tire pressure than the ones I am currently using. These newer tires have a 44psi rating, they are in all other respects the correct size and rating as the OEM tires.
I have been running them at 40psi all around for 20k miles and all seems just fine. My mileage, braking and tire wear seem as good or better than any previous tires. The alignment is true, tires are rotated every 5k and handling is nominal for these rigs.
Any thoughts? Different tire technology make any difference here?
