The weather is supposed to be great on Sunday and this is a great show with usually hundreds of cars.
Also Monday evening is the Draggins open house, another good time.
Im really more of an out doors kinda guy. I love old vehicles and equipment and stuff, but most of the car shows are a real joke. Anyone can save enough dollars to buy a nice car and enter it in a car show, and unfortunately, many people do.
Those kind of people Im just not interested in meeting and mingling with.
I will however use a couple of FTE members here that are a perfect example of guys that I like to get to know. Ryan and Chris. Both of those guys like to actually build stuff, get their hands dirty, anjd arent the kinda guys that just buy and "show off" to people.
Show me a car show where there are lots of cool guys that build or modify their own rides instead of just buy them, and Id consider wasting a little time on going there!
Otherwise ill mingle with mother nature, maybe the four winns, or maybe the KTM!

90% of the car/truck owners that that I`ve met at shows are builders not buyers. Don`t knock them till you at least meet `em! As for nature what`s better than an outdoor car show on a nice day in a beautiful wooded setting with family and friends?
As for a waste of time, well, that`s entirely your call.
I might give it a try. If I have to hear more guys yap about how they "build" their vehicles, then fidn and their version of building a car is writing the cheques for someone else to do the work, Ill gladly pass.
Very fond of the cars, just not most of the people Ive met that owned them.
Most of the guys I met at the Draggins are usually guys who trade their expertise in one area for another fella to do his expertise on their vehicles in other areas.
Like some guy is a pro at modifing your engines, while the other is a pro at painting. They will rade their skills for work to be done. But they still write cheques for parts and supplies to each other. Lots of guys today and past did trade offs of their expertise to get the work done on their vehicles.
I forgot all about the Pike Lake and now I have someone coming here on Sunday. Dang it. And I'm only 10 miles away. I was thinking of going to the Draggins BBQ on Monday after work.
Well Sunday will have to see if I can break away for a bit.
