Mine is almost always in the 100 daily driver. I have high idle, 40T, 80T, 100T, 100DD, and as much as I could get out of a 120ish Race.

I don't follow MPG's enough really, but average around 15 mixed. I realize most don't need that many tow tunes, but shift points are varied on each to my liking. They have economy style tunes as well. I had a 60 economy tune but didn't like the way it shifted, I like the shifts quick and firm, so all are now more similar to tow tunes.

I do not have Brians or Cales tunes, but I have running DP Stock, 1200 high idle, 60Tow, 80E, 120R for the past 4 years. Pretty much covers the entire range pretty well. Somtimes towing heavy; it might be worthwhile for a slightly lower tow tune.

I am currently experimenting with PHP tunes; Like them more than DP, night/day difference in feel.

I have 60,80,100 street. 60,80 tow, & 1000 rpm high idle.
I spend 95% of my time in the 100 street, but wish I had 100 tow for the spaced out shifts.
His 100 is a nice peppy all around tune, you'll like it.

not to turn your question into a shooting match...but

i have had numerous tuners tune chips for my truck. initially, i bought a 3 position toggle from jim(rat49f6) and Cale(when he was with dad at BTS) was the ONLY one willing to try to write to it. truck ran awesome. got some mods done and thought about "trying" another. Bill and Cody were great and burned the chip also. Actually liked the feeling of Cales, but truck still ran great. then i pulled the trigger on a DP. actually loved it, until i got it live tuned and Jody said i was losing HP oil. so, i bought a T500. oil pressure went up(was holding about 1600), but to only 2300 with an 81% DC. so i bought a scangauge 2 and started to monitor different perimeters live everyday. decided to give Brian a call(friend referenced). he discussed the "inter-workings" of the truck and had me look at specific perimeters and call him back. ended up getting a chip from him. the truck has NEVER run better. oil sticks at 2400 or so, but i CANNOT get the DC higher than 50%. Brian said he could up the max pressure, but on the dyno, the truck makes no more power and the pressure just causes parts to wear out. gained 3 mpg running 100 tune, and my EGTs have a hard time getting too 1100. cant say enough about Brian, Tina, and the whole experience.

to answer the question...i have stock, high idle, 80T, 100 performance, 120 race, and 140(i think). its very hard to drive 140 on a curvey road as the tires want to break loose every time you get on the pedal hard.

sorry for the winded explanation, but i know there are a lot of people that say X tuner is the best, or Y tuner is the one for you. some have NEVER used anything to monitor data, some have never tried anyone else. of course, if you bought a stockish truck, any tuner will make it "feel" awesome. but live data and discussions with tuners will prove which one will perform the best.

Frank when you are towing your 5th wheel are you using the 60 or 80 tow and what are your egt's look like in both tunes. I was just wondering if when you are towing the 5er in 80 tow are the egt's are Hi?/

I usually tow in 60, and my egt's are never an issue. I do sometimes tow in 80 if I'm in the flat country, however The egt's can get out of control on large overpasses.

I have Brian's tunes and LOVE them, plus Brian is the coolest PSD guy on the planet.

The only difference in his 'tow' tunes is the way it shifts - I'm not gonna post what's different, but Brian will tell you. He also says his 100HP tune is basically the same as his 'modified stock' tune. If you only push the pedal down a little in 100hp, its like flooring it in 20HP.

As far as MPG, you are only kidding yourself if ya think 60, 80 or 100HP tune will net better MPG. There is no doubt the lowest HP tune will be more forgiving to MPG. Remember, the DRIVER has waaaay more to do with MPG than any other 'mod'. I promise, if you drive the same way in a lower tune - your MPG will go up. If you still think there is an '80 econo', you've had tooo much of the koolaid...

I can tow my rockcrawler (7k gross w/trailer) with the X in Brian's 100hp tune in the smokies (N.GA and western NC) and EGT's are not an issue - even when I had the STOCK exhaust!! However, fuel consumption was freaking ridiculous on that trip. Towing the 12k Toy Hauler with the X in 60tow, I can literally say I don't need an EGT gauge. I can run at WOT all the way up Monteagle Pass in TN at 22k GCVW and just kiss 1200*. I can tow in the higher tunes, but since I KNOW what that does to MPG's - I don't.

I think Matt knows how I feel about the toons I used to have. There is just no comparison with Brian's. The engine(s) are quieter, make more power, less smoke, lower EGT's, , higher ICP/lower IPR Duty Cyle, superior shifting and better MPG's. I'm sure there are other tuners out there that write good tunes - but Brian's are waaaaay better than what I used to have.

And I don't expect Brian's tuning will do this:

Oh yeah, and to answer your question...

I drive both trucks in 60tow most of the time. In the 6spd, I can lug it pretty good and don't get any smoke , and in the X I can (could ) pretty much floor it off the line and not get any smoke. The higher tunes only smoke if I snap the throttle - even the 140HP tune in the dually (AC code injectors & 38R) I can roll into the throttle and not get any smoke. None of the tunes smoke at all past about 15psi of boost.

I've been low on WVO for awhile, so I've been driving the dually like a grandma in stock (20HP) and I don't think I've ever gotten this good of MPG!!!
