Anyone know if CAt makes an oil filter that fits on a 2001 F350?
I work at a CAT dealer and can get them a bit cheaper, if not free is why I am asking.
Since you have access to a CAT dealer, check the specs on an IR-0716 filter. I have read that others have used them on OBS PSD but I have not seen them in person. If you do a search on Caterpillar IR-0716 oil filter you will see that there are many listings for them but many of the listings say that the filter is made in China.
I know I used to get Balwin filters from my former employer (Cat Dealer) but I don't recall my counter guy seeing a cross to a CAT filter. Maybe there is. Post up the part # if you find it.
There is one that holds an extra qt. It was posted either on Bob the Oil Guy Forum or Powerstrokenation. I had the link on my laptop but lap top crashed.

The 1R-1808 looks to be about 18-22 microns absolute (look at page 654 of the link below)..
Ok so based on those betas, the wix filter is 75% efficient at 10 microns and absolute (98.6%) efficient at 30 microns. So the wix filter tails behind the Cat by about 6-8 microns, which is pretty typical for wix filters. The big thing to watch with using larger filters is the diameter... over 4.65" and I doubt it will fit.
