A couple of months ago my wife had a little fender bender with the Edge, nothing serious. It needed a new passenger fender and headlight. After it happened she started talking about trading it. I didn't pay much attention to Her because we only got that Edge last year in March. After the Edge got fixed she called the salesman that sold us it, to get a price on a 2011 Edge limited(one year buy back), so I started to take notice!! They wanted way to much difference on that one, so then I started to look and found one where I bought my truck. 2011 Edge limited, 3.5l 285hp V6, 6 speed auto, push button start, Navigation, and the my ford touch system. It was also a one year buy back with 26,000kl on it. My wife took it for a drive and was very impressed with how much quieter and smoother it was compared to our 2010 Edge. The price was right so we went for it.
Lots of work around here. Got my 85 Ford back on the road. Bought new coil springs for the front end. So this summer I plan to pull the I beams and radius arms off and replace the radius arms. They are worn. So the plan is to Por 15 the parts and put new radius arms and bushing and springs on the front. Get rid of the sway.
I love that old beater truck. Just need to stay away from those vehicle safety checks. They will flag it before I can fix it all.
Maybe later I will get the rear diffy done. Lots of pinion slap.
Now if I can find a decent repairable or rust free box cheap.
Glen I have a rear diff from a 90s ford f150 for sale with 3.55 gearing. Not sure if it would work for your older truck, but if it would, let me know if your interested in it.
I have another rear diffy still in a 79 ford truck. I plan to remove. It has heavy duty springs and an overloads. I will put them on my 85 to strengthen the back of my truck. Before I put that diffy in I will pull it apart and put new seals and bearings in.
Now I'm to head out and cut grass and fight off the ticks. Man they are bad this year.
