accessory assistance please

I don't own a 2012 but have a client who does, he was a chevy guy and i was talking up the 6.7 and he got one. He is asking me about grill guards and i was wondering about sites that have nice looking ones. Also he said he heard that
his new truck will shut down @ 95 mph, any truth to that.
I have a 2002 7.3

It will not "shut down" but it is governed to 95 MPH. All the tuners can make that go away.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to take this top heavy, handling suspension deprived vehicle that fast. If you want to go fast buy something built to do it.

I've certainly never taken mine up to the 95 mph mark and have absolutely no intention of doing so given the propensity of this model to the "bouncing front wheels" syndrome. I've seen the video of how violent the syndrome is and can't imagine how much fun it'd be driving one at 95+ mph and having that occur.

I took it to the limit once- briefly. I think mine only went to about 92 and that's with a speedometer that reads 10% high. There was a clear "limit" in acceleration when I hit that speed, so I'm sure I hit the governor limit. No front-end bounce though, thankfully.

I have hit the 95 MPH limit several times. The first time was just 'cause, and the second time was quite unintentional. That truck is just so fast. It can carry so much speed into a corner! Like a muscle car, I wouldnt think about road racing it...Wow its fast.

Runs just as smooth at 95 as it does at 70. Would not make a habit of doing it, but it does get there pretty fast for such a heavy truck.
