well it wasnt a very good saturday night for me and the truck. On my way home from town I hit a slippery spot in the road and had the trucks rearend kick out. Didnt have much room to counter react and I caught the side of a guys garage. Lucky I was alone and nether I or the homeowners were injuried. One thing bothers me though, i was going at least 35 mph probably closer to 40 when I hit the corner of the garage, the air bags never deployed and i dont understand why? as you can see i hit the corner of the garage and drove the 30ft 8" cement block wall straight back almost 8 inches surely there was enough force to set them off. the rearend caught a barnstone wall and ripped it back like it is. but anyways I'm glad i was driving the superduty, a smaller truck or car and I probably would be in the hospital and this is why I will always drive a full size truck like this. I'm still waiting to hear if there going to total it or not, I couldnt tell if there was any motor, tranny,or frame damage. although i know right where the frame ends behind the bumper is what hit the wall first.
Glad no one got hurt. Truck can be repaired but know that hurts also, just looking at it.
I agree with your comment about the air bags. Interested to see what others say....................
Not unusual, as I and alot of other people believe when in an accident they will deploy right! Wrong it has to be head on. Found this out when my sister-in-law was in an accident and it was the front corner of the vehicle, as this one is.
Now to me that is just plain stupid...it should go off regardles as long as you were traveling over xx miles per hour and have any kind of frontal impact.

What about the side curtain airbags? You'd think they'd go off in a corner or side collision.
yea roadkingfl i felt pretty crappy for the home owners, there friends of the my family. I just cant belive there wasnt enough force to set them off even though it was only on the side and not direct head on in the center of the truck. glad i had my seatbelt on or i would have ate some major windsheild
Hmm. On the bright side your truck stayed on its wheels and you had space left in the cab. My accident left me upside down and very little room in the cab. I just curled up in a ball and crawled the 'f out of there before the cab collapsed any more. No fun but it do happen.
The air bags are triggered by accelerometers. You must not have hit the threshold value. Truck looks messed up, a lot of injuries don't show up for a couple of days. Glad you and the home owner are ok.
