I placed my order for 2012 F350 Dually King Ranch last Tuesday, Feb 7th and I got my VIN# assigned last Friday, Feb 10th. I was informed that it'll be built and off the assembly line in about two weeks.
Appears to vary greatly. I ordered on 8 Nov, VIN on 28 Dec, Built 17 Jan and delivered 2 Feb. Apparently, larger dealers get quicker processing of orders.
While it may take a while, believe me, it's WORTH IT! Love my truck.
I didn't pay to much attention to the dates but it was about a week on mine to get a vin. ordered on Jan 13 and it should be in my hands by the end of the week. a little over a month for the whole process for me, unless something goes haywire in the next day or two.
I told my dealer when I ordered that I wasn't in a huge hurry and could wait a bit to get the truck, apparently he took that to mean it was the lowest possible priority.
Ordered Dec 6, 2011
VIN Jan 29, 2012
Scheduled to be built sometime next week, but no window sticker yet.
Delivery? I'm guessing mid to late March by the time it makes its way up here.
That would make it 3.5-4 MONTHS to get the truck.
Seeing the speed that some of you guys are getting VINs and taking delivery, it's gone from being ridiculous to pissing me off...

B&LLandscaping, from what I understand about Ford ordering system...if you go to a dealer with unfulfilled allocation allowed for that particular dealer, you can often accelerate the VIN # assignment. When I ordered mine, I bypassed the sales staff and went directly to the Fleet Manager at a large Ford dealer (which happens to be the closest to my house and most convenient to me). I presented him with the build spec codes & best price quote that I already negotiated from other distant dealers in hand and I simply asked him to beat their quotes. I was done with deal in about 12 minutes with order sheet already signed, and it had low priority number on it. I hope this helps some of you, fellow FTE buds. If anyone else can give helpful suggestion to other future FTE Super Duty buyers/owners, I'd appreciate it.
