There are lots of vehicle scams out there that require cash payment to prevent tracking the perp. Not an expert, but read enough about it when purchasing my truck through ebay that it sent off a warning sign in my mind. Would not stop me from making the purchase, but it would cause me to be extra cautious as that much money is significant in my life.
Well I wouldn't send cash for a vehicle. I was assuming we are talking about a person to person deal. With any vehicle purchase there are a few must look at things.
1. title vin matches vehicle vin
2. title is clean, no leans, person you are dealing with is name on the title
3. see vehicle in person, see title in person, everything matches and is correct, I would never buy a vehicle "sight unseen". Everything should be done in person, cash trades hands as title trades hands.
When I sold my last truck I met the buyer at a branch of my bank so everything was taken care of at the teller desk. The money was in my account before I handed the title over.
