I have a '97 Expedition that's getting kinda tired. So before I plunk out $4 grand on a crate mtr. I found a guy that has a 4.6L crate mtr. he purchased for a mustang , and I can pick it up for under $1000.oo~~ He has not yet installed it in a car, all he did was install a mustang intake on it and painted the block. Where I could use some advise is, "Would this Mtr. fit right in my Exp." ...? I was going to put my intake on it so all my connections would plug in and not deal with the mess of splicing wires here and there...The block should be the same, "Correct"..? Any help would be greatly appreciated .........
If you scroll down to the 1997 and up Expedition forum, or even the 4.6 and 5.4 forums farther down, they may be able to help you there as this is the 2009 and up F-150 forum.
What year Mustang? Without knowing it could be a 2V or possibly 3V engine. I'm not sure how well the stock EC would work with a 3V. Also check the cam specs. They may not be suitable for the heavier Expedition.
The guy got the Mtr. off a friend and He says He doesn't know anything about that block.... I can have him give me all the #'s off the block and find out exactly what it is........ "That sounds like a plan!" Thanx again...G~
Hope i can get some help here, i have a 97 f150 time for new engine, is it easier to pull cab, or should i pull motor down and pull part of the front end off?
