airbag restraint system alarm
I recently replaced the battery in my 2001 superduty and since then I get an alarm ( 5 beeps ) from the ARS everytime I shut the truck off. The ARS light works in the dash and goes out after I start the truck which makes the system look normal but it still alarms when I shut the truck off. Why?

If the SRS light is working, but not flashing, that is weird. I don't know if there is an alarm for anything else under there. The alarm should only go off when the SRS light is out.
I think the only way you're going to know is to find a way to read the SRS and HEC codes. That's probably going to take AE or the dealership.

I found the source of the beeps after much research on the internet. The answer came from a F150 forum (not related to FTE). The beeps were coming from my aftermarket Pioneer radio. It was warning beeps to remind me to remove the faceplate after the ignition switch was shut off. Apparently disconnecting the battery to replace it (first battery since truck was new) reset the alarm back to initial setting of on. I just had to go into radio settings and turn the warning off so everything is good now.
