help with TFs on GT40 heads
I have a 71 302 which rungs great; I also have a set of GT40 heads with trick flow valve spring upgrade kit summit #TFS-2500100. Question is do I need a cam for these springs or will the stock cam be sufficient for them, I'm also installing pedestal roller rockers 1.6. I ask some from trick-flow however, it didn't even ask what engine or heads I was running before saying I didn't need a cam. I will probably have to get a pushrod checker to get the pushrods for this set up.

They are probably right; you don't match cams to springs, but springs to cams. If you got a cam with significantly more lift, you will need to get springs that can handle that. Since you're keeping the old cam, new springs will only provide better control of the valve train.
You may be right about needing new push rods for that combination, but take measurements after you assemble the heads onto the block.
