2002 Excursion

Need some help, just bought a 2002 Excursion, had it 3 days, it just started making a weird noise on the drivers side sounds like the front tire. It is a shuffling noise. any comments?

It's either the tire, brakes, or hub...

We need more information though:

-under what conditions does the noise occur?
-how do the tires look?

Its the hubs

found out last night it is the locking hubs, the 4wheel drive is trying to engage, we have to have the locking hubs replaced.

All you need is a pair of needle-nose pliers to replace the hubs - please don't pay a shop to do this!!!!

Aftermarket hubs are available for MUCH cheaper than OE units, but you'll lose the 'auto' function. If you are inclined, here is some great info about the hubs. Read all the write-up's on guzzle's site and you'll learn ALOT about your new ride!

thanks for the info, we actually have a friend that will be replacing the hubs for us. We are in the Midwest. So far we like the Excursion! Very roomy and runs really well!
