My new wife spotted this truck advertised on CL for $18,700. I'm going to head over to the dealer tomorrow and check it out, but it really seems under-priced. is all the "conversion" stuff basically worthless on resale?
The 6.0 could have a history of problems or it could have no problems. Get an independent diesel mechanic look it over and get an OASIS report from a Ford dealer. I think the customization is kind of cool. The seats look comfortable, the full length overhead console is neat and all of the wood grain. The only thing I don't really care for is the paint scheme. Why do conversion companies feel the need to paint the vehicles several colors and add graphics? Check under that new plastic drop-in bed-liner for a bed that is beat up.
BTW, the price seems to be in line with a truck of that year, mileage, and equipment level.
Its not really cheap in my area for a 6.0l and there are quite a few on the lots. If it were the exact same truck, miles and etc but an 02' or 03' with a 7.3l the truck would be listed for more. The number of 6.0l issues and good rep of the 7.3l keeps the 7.3l prices up and the 6.0l prices down somewhat. That and a lot of guys unloaded their 6.0l before the 100k mile warrenty expired. A local lot had an 04' 6.0l on the lot for over 3 years before they either sold it or got rid of it. Was a mint truck but it probably had issues.
For my area it's on the cheap side, even compared to much less customized vehicles. I'll definitely get an Oasis and have my diesel mechanic check it out if it gets to that point.
I realize the issues with the 6.0 might have something to do with the price.
was there a bad oasis report....or we just beating up 6.0's
Just beating on the 6.0 at this point. If someone wants to get an OASIS, the VIN is in the ad. I'm trying to make time to actually go look at the truck.
