I am looking at getting an Edge insight CS with a 18401 pillar mount (I think it'll fit, but its not very clear). Are there any of you with this setup? All I have seen is the dash pod. Do the pillar mount come in grey or black only and I'd have to paint it? Any help appreciated!
I hesitated to reply, because I have the dash pod. But since no one else seems to know, here is my $.02.
Very likely the pillar pod will come in raw color, and you will have to paint it to match your interior. I painted my dash pod, with paint off the Home Depot shelf, and the match is so perfect that you would swear the pod is stock.
I'm not sure why you want the pillar instead of the dash. It ends up being in almost the same location. But I guess you have your reasons. Here are a couple photos of mine. I have an XLT, so the dash is black plastic with a lightly stippled surface. I also have the older Insight, but the case size is the same. (The CST is larger)
Thanks for the great pics and info, that setup look slick! I have not decided on the pillar or dash pod, but I had just never seen a pillar mount in an F350 even though it seems it can be done.
I like it. I have the older one, not the CS. It does everything I need, except that I want a fuel pressure gauge. So I am debating on upgrading to the CS and adding a fuel pressure option, or just adding a gauge to the dash.
The Scangage does more stuff, and costs less. Just not as elegant.
I'm sure Colorbond has what you need. I don't know about the other brands. Some of the pod resellers even carry the Colorbond product so you can have them include it with your order.

Reason: Because I named the wrong brand.
I found a local Diesel shop that sells the insight as cheap as I can get it out of the US so am buying it from here. I have found some nice color matches in Colorbond paint, not just have to find someone local that sells it. I am just a bit confused, as my interior code is 9E being 40/20/40 leather and E being medium flint). I just don't know if the medium flint applies to the whole interior or just the leather. I am **** about this and want it to be as perfect as I can

I understand, but try this. Go out to your truck in nice lighting, like in the morning. Sit in the seat and look around at each piece of the interior of your truck one by one. Do the colors match perfectly on all the parts? I will bet they don't, but the brain expects them to match and the human eye doesn't notice the variations unless you actually look for them. People normally won't notice the variations.
Very good point! I will check it out next time we have some nice weather. I guess what I'm saying is i want it very close, not a difference that anyone who gets in the truck would notice.
