Has anyone installed an aftermarket bug deflector on their new truck. Ford doesn't seem to have them yet to buy. If so, could you post a picture of it and what company made it. I have the chrome pkg. and dont know if i would like smoke or chrome on my white truck. Thanks, Craig
I searched the forum and found your old thread on this topic. Seems not a lot of people are responding. On this thread I indicated my experience with them and have since switched to a paint protection.
I didn't take pics yet because I am still waiting to install a couple more accessories. However, I installed a bug deflector from Auto Vent Shade company. It looks great and doesn't require any drilling. It also installs under the hood. Some I have looked at mounts to top side of hood using double sided tape.
It's called the Bugflector and the part number is 25062, it is smoke and I have a white truck. I will post some pics this weekend.
I did the 3M type material (mine is invisishied I think). It covers about 18 inches up the hood and other parts of the truck. No issues with any rock chips on the hood yet and it is difficult to tell it's there. However, 2 days ago I got a pretty bad rock chip in the windshield. Not sure if a bug deflector would have bumped it up over the windshield or not.
