Did you verify wich wire runs what before you wired it up?? I know i put led taillights on my 79 stepside that had 3 wires stock, but the new lights needed only 2 and a ground...maybe that brown wire was a ground...I know 1 wire runs the turn/brake on mine and the other the tail. Use a testlight to check when u get power to wich wire on your trucks wiring if u havent done that already.

the slicks have a body ground on the tail lights so that is prolly not your problem. there are three wires that run back. tail lights, and left and right brake and turn signal. if neither bulb comes on when lights are turned on then the lead coming in is prolly not working. check your fuse. you didn't say what year but the 65 and 6 have a taillamp fuse in the fuse box. check your bulbs, they need to be a 1157 dual filiment bulb. make sure both filiments are in working order. if all works out there then you should test your wires at the back to make sure the juice is running to the lamps , if not then your problem is elsewhere. was they working before you changed them.? buy the way what did you actually change. the bulbs or the entire unit? dutch
