Can riveted 16" rims be used for tubeless radials?
Have been getting a few different stories on this topic...
I finally found my fourth 16x6" "Innie" rim (plan on using a standard 16 for spare) and they are now in great
restored shape...no rust, no dents. These rim centers are riveted, not welded, and as they don't have the
safety grove in them for radials, can they be used for tubeless radials? Are the rivets air-tight? I know they
would pop off of the bead if flat....I've been told to use Bias-Ply tube-type tires with tubes....
Nope, and most reputable shops will not mount radials on the rims as it is against federal statute to do so and they also assume liability in case of accidental tire chucking.

Hey garbz,
Will these riveted rims hold air without tubes?
