I have an odd issue occuring in my 66 f100 that I have not been able to figure out yet by a quick look over and was hoping for some input on what it could be. The truck is a 3 on the tree manual steering v8 that is lowered 3 inches in the front, what is happening is when you turn to the left it is really easy to turn but when turning to the right it has almost a quarter turn of freeplay before starting to turn the wheels and then gets pretty hard to turn to the right compared to the left. I had this issue about 6 months ago and replaced the gear box but it was wore when I replaced it this is a good tight box from a 73 3 on tree truck it was perfect and then started this last night. I have checked the box for grease, the rag joint and all the parts on the box feel tight. I also am having an issue that started at the same time when you turn right the steering pops I am not sure what the deal is with that everything in the column feels tight and there is not any slop when you move the wheel. I have had the truck for almost two years and it had brand new floor pans and cab mount sheetmetal along with all new urethane bushings installed right after I got it so I don't think cab flex is part of the issue.
