Question Wife asked....

well.... she's complaining about the ford gold remote start not staying on very long to warm 05 6.oh Ex up in the am...
I told her it was set for 10 minutes when they installed it IIRC...

of course she timed it this morning says it only runs for about 3 minutes...

is there a simple dial I can change the idle length ?

(I know idling is not some people's cup o' tea,
but my happiness is directly related to her's !!!
if you get my drift !)

Thanks in advance !
JB

Yes, that would warm it up for her in the winter...

How would I make it idle longer in the summer to cool it off for ME ?

I have an astrostart, not the ford gold, simple way to do it is on the back of my remote with combo of button pushes. It might have been falsly changed by accidently pushing a combination of remote buttons....

Appreciate the response. but no idea what button combo it could be as I have no instructions....

don't even know where the 'box' is - under the dash I would presume ?

I had a aftermarket remote which had a pin setting in the box behind a panel... Removed panel set it to 15 minutes and was good to go... Never seen one where the remote sets the duration.. But could be... My old one also had a setting that would auto start the truck every 2-3hrs and run it for 15 minutes to keep it from freezing if it gets to cold...

Your best bet is to find the module most likely under the the dash drivers side... Get a MFG name and model and I'm sure you will be able to find the manual on line... One of the biggest mfg is direct electronics.. Not sure if ford actually makes there own... or if its a dealer installed item...

This is my half arsed attempt at helping you.

I googled a few things and found most people that are having trouble with this system are directed here.

Car Alarm, Car Stereo, Mobile Video, and Cruise Control Info for Installers

A hand full of people from other forums said the manual can be downloaded there. You will have to register to get the instructions,Which I did not do,So I can't tell you for sure there on there or where to navigate too.I hope this aleast gets you started.

This place is also supposed to have every remote start manual.

http://techservices.codesystems.com

Make sure you get this fixed ASAP!!!!Because remember..."Happy wife Happy Life"
