brake question

i know my right caliper is sticking on my 05 b2300 2x4, but sometimes when i turn the wheel right or left and hit the brakes there is a loud grinding and the pedal pulsates bad. the caliper sticks all the the time but there's no grinding, it's just once in a while when i turn. is it still only the caliper or is there another issue i should look for?
thanks

The caliper glide pins are probably rusty and causing callper to bind. Remove, clean and lube them with high temperature grease.

75000 km (just under 50000 miles). i put new pins and pads on it last year. i lubed the pins with silicone brake grease.
anyone know what the cost of a new caliper is? i'm thinking it my be seizing open causing the pads to flop around and rub against the bottom of the rotor (below the normal surface contact area, where its rusted). but i still don't see why it only does it while i'm turning.

you need to check your wheel bearings ! and if you do that then you will see if there is any other problems !

Before condemming caliper pull wheel and check caliper glide pins to make sure not binding. Even though they were replaced and lubed it is still possible they are once again binding. Also check the bolts that secure the brake pad retainer in place. Had an issue with mine where they were slightly loose and set up a huge racket. Because you are getting the pedal pulsation check your wheel speed sensor for antilock brakes to make sure it isn't loose and hitting slotted portion of ring on back side of rotor.

is there a lot of snow where you are and if so do they use lots of salt ? if so then all of that can rust things up pretty fast !

yes, lots of salt put on the roads on the winter and its even in the air in the summer on humid days. east coast of canada.
i replaced one bearing and seal on the drivers side and cleaned, repacked the pass. side that grinds when i replaced the pads. i also rechecked the torque on both 6 months ago. everything seemed solid. it rides like a dream on the highway, zero shake.
i,ll check for play again and the bolts to be sure its not that.
i should add it belonged to my father and he launched his 16 foot alum in the ocean for mackerel fishing. had to replace everything in the back breaking system including the wheel cylinders, rotted bad, he never rinsed the wheels when he got home.
of i do have to replace the caliper i can't do it until spring anyway (no garage) so i got lots of time to get the best price. i might even just put a kit in and swap all the brake fluid over to silicone. i did it on my dakota and solved the problem they had with seizing calipers every 2 years. well worth the investment especially with the year round salt issues.
