Maybe this has been covered before. I was wondering who's owned their Excursion the longest here. Or do we have any original owners of the 2000 model here ? I bought my 2000 model in April of 2002 with 46,000 miles on it. I will have owned it nine years this coming spring and it has just over 200,000 on it. I raised my four kids in that truck and did a lot of growing up in it myself.Thinking of selling in spring and getting my self an early bronco or cool old Ford truck.
I bought a 2000 2wd Limited in Nov 99, traded for the same year and color 4wd Limited in June 2000. Drove that till May 05, 100k miles, then picked up current 03 Eddie Bauer used with 20K, now at 110K. First two were V10's and last one is 7.3L.
Also had another 03 Eddie Bauer V10 in for year that I bought for my wife to replace an Expedition. I traded that for a Lincoln LS. So have had 4 Ex's thus far.
The best seats were in the 2000, but the later versions have no clunks in the suspension and body like the 2000 MY. The best mod by far is the replacement of stock springs.
Mine has been in the family since my grandpa bought it in 00. He bought one of the first ones that came into the dealer that he worked at. We got it in 2003 when he died. At that point it only had 10k miles. Now it has about 80k.
