Over the last couple weeks I have built a home made adjustable AIC. I then installed it to where it would work, but was not mounted. I came home from school yesterday, and I installed some indicator LEDs and the whole AIC deal. The AIC can be adjusted, and it still allows my exhaust brake to stay closed for even quicker warm ups. Only thing left to do is cut the potientometer down and put the **** on it ( but I left that at school)
ive only ever seen it happen on 97 trucks, but when the voltage of the system gets more than 14.2 the GPR turns off ... so because of the high idle it was cycling.
All i did was ground it to my gauges already, and got power from the big terminal on the relay that goes to the glow plugs, I also put a fuse link in there by the GPR, so that if it shorts out nothing catches fire... 3 amp fuse is about 30 times too big for an LED of that size.
They refer to the APS as the TPS. Also, you can add the external resistor to "either side" of the APS, you just have to wire accordingly and set the pot accordingly.
