New Ford F 750

What does anyone know about the f 750. My current trucking needs are increasing and I am need of a larger truck and trailer to haul. I currently have a 2009 Dodge 5500 with a 6.7 cummins but am hauling it maxed out with a 12 ton trailer. I cannot find a lot of info on this rig and was wondering if any of you all knew much about it or better yet someone may have one. Thanks

F 750 has only two options as far as I know, 6.7 Cummins or 7.2 CAT. I'm not sure if they make gassers now.

As of now only 1 option! Cat left the OTR market in 2008 and no longer makes engines for it. Starting in 2011 you will have the option of the 6.8 V10 gasser in these trucks.

I dont know what they have any more, theres a truck junk yard in camden. I think its called camden truck parts or something like that. There also was an old truck junk yard in pa , I think around pipersville called harvie grays. Both close to central n.j. Sorry, I some how got this on the wrong thread.

I'm not sure how things are in Canada, but Ford's website only shows the 6.7 Cummins for the F650/F750.

IN MY OPINION that 6.7 cummins wont be worth a hoot in those trucks , and if they are going to put a gasser in them then it is time to look else were !! or take a older one and build it the way you want !!

I was looking at a 2010 F 750 on the weekend. Only the 6.7 cummins for engine options as far as the dealer says. Asked if I could get delivery in 5 mths, they said no garantee. There was one on the lot but it aint quite what I am looking for, config for a fancy dump truck, I need a highway hauler and am not interested in most of the $30,000 plus options on it. Some folks on here think the cummins won't do the job, I am just curious why? Anything else anyone has heard bout the 2010-11 F 750. The dealer did say some of the delays are due to the changes they are making to the cab to bring it more in line with the F 450 and 550.......

The 6.7 does fine in these trucks it is not super fast but up to its rated weight its really not that bad. The delays are coming from blue diamond in mexico the factory is going through a massive government order bank and retooling. You should expect delivery in about 7 months tops.

My friend has the F 750 and says that the 6.7 is not the best that ford has made, and that he should have waited for a new model....

Ive heard that the new 6.7Scorp is coming to these trucks. Will be 2012 or 2013M/Y

They want to test it on the smaller trucks because it would be a major crisis if they had some kind of design flaw that showed its face on trucks that big and the people who bought them might turn against ford in the future.

I have been following this thread, very interesting information so far. I also find it interesting that CAT left the OTR market. It had to be a fairly substantial cut to make.

It seems that right now the diesel emmisions issue is comparable to the early/mid 70's gasoline emmision issues, still being sorted out. I remember the big three stating that no way could they ever meet the stringent standards. Guess what, it was a done deal, although not without much screaming and shouting....

Looking towards the gasoline engines, it is amazing what 30+ years of advancements in gasoline engine managment/emmision technology have brought - more horsepower and less emmisions with longer engine life to boot.

It would be interesting to see the diesel engine managment/emmisions flash forwarding 25+ years.

+1

Ford sure does not want to revisit the whole Brazilian diesel thing again. They were ok engines, just not stellar, at least from my experience. Perhaps making up with Navistar would be in order. The DT466 sure seems to soldier right along, and it would be a additional engine choice in the F750.
