I have a Midland "Hy Power" hydrovac booster from a '59 f600. I'm trying to use it on my '59 f250 but not sure how it works. Does anyone have a diagram for it? I took the main cover off and the diaphragm is in good shape.
Is there supposed to be brake fluid on the inside of the diaphragm(side between the diaphragm and the brake lines)? With the diaphragm off, spring/rod removed, I applied air pressure to the brake inlet port, I get air out the outlet port as well as the hole where the diaphragm rod goes in.
Any info/diagrams you could give me on this unit would help, just can't find a lot of info on it.
Also on the back there is a square head plug, is this the reservoir for brake fluid?
I already had this unit(I had a '59 f600 parts truck). I got it all put back together and installed in my truck, seems to work pretty well. I haven't had it on the road yet though.
Maybe later I'll upgrade to a regular boosted MC, just working w what I have for now to get the truck finished and on the road.
