No Heat from Defrost and Heater

Hello Everyone,

I have a 2005 Ford Expedition and today my defrost and heater started to blow cold air in the hot air position. It was working fine early this morning, but then in the evening it started to blow cold air. I looked at the radiator fluid and it's full. I do not know which fuse to check. Does anyone know which fuse? If this is not the problem, does anyone know where I should start looking.

Thanks

Well the fuse wouldn't be the thing to check if the blower motor is working, just not blowing hot air. What you want to check is the blend door, if that isn't working then the door will not allow the hot air to enter into the vents. Another possibility is a bad heater core, but since you said it was working then just quite then it is probably the blend door. If the blower motor isn't moving any air then the two main causes are the blower motor itself or the blower motor resistor. Those are the only things I can think of that would be causing your problem

What type of temperature controls do you have (digital or the *****) If your control is from a **** I've heard of these stripping out where it slides onto the shaft of the control, you might take a look at it.

Is the blend door located under the dash on the passenger side? Can I fix this myself? Where is the the heater core located? Sorry for so many questions.

Again I get air moving around just not hot air. It's cold air, but not really really cold. You can feel a little warm air in it, but not extremely hot.

The blend door is located behind the heater core under the passenger side of the dash. They're both a real bitch to get to. On my 99 it took me 10 hours to replace the heater core. As far as you replacing them, it depends on how mechanically inclined you are, it's fairly complicated to do.
