Need help!!! Posted on similar thread in van section but no response now since yesterday. New to forum, looking for some help with fuel system issues.
Truck is a 4.9L straight six and I need to know where the fuel pump relay is located. I replace the high pressure pump yesterday only to find out I don't have power to the pump! None of the pumps (duel tanks)! Bought a relay but am unable to find where it goes.
I have never been able to get fuel from the back tank. The gauge will switch over but the fuel continues to come from the front tank. I would like to know how the switching device is configured-(four tubes in, which ones are what?)
I bought this truck after setting for two years and thought I had stolen it but as it turns out I am spending enough on it now to have purchased a much nicer truck. 73,000 actual miles though if I ever get this gas thing worked out it should be a good one!
Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance.
Sorry I don't know the answers to your questions but I have a solution. Look on ebay for a Ford factory shop manual for your vehicle. FSM is a time and money-saver!
Thanks. I have a Chiltons but it doesn't seem to have the information I was looking for. I will get a shop manual though soon. Found the relay last night. It's on the passanger side mounted on the fender next to the battery. Replaced the relay but still have no power at pump so I'm still not running. Thanks again, I appreciate your response.
