Air Bags

I am looking into putting airbags on my 2011 F-250 FX4 to keep it from sagging when the toy hauler is hooked up. I have been pricing them online and wanted to see if anyone else out there has been doing the same. If so, what kind of pricing are you finding and where. Maybe if there are enough of us ordering, we could get a volume discount?

Mine are due to me any day now. I ordered the 5,000 lb set from Firestone for $256.46 and free shipping.

You must have ordered from sdtrucksprings.com? I was just looking at them. These are the same bags I had on my 2007 Dodge 2500(yeah I know). Looks to be the best price out there.

Anyone interested in ordering Firestone airbags right now they are offering free shipping and an extra $10 off. Total is $246.46. Slightly higher if you have the factory 5th/gooseneck hitch option. I just placed my order today.

I ordered from suspensionconnection.com. I installed the bags yesterday, currently installing the Viar 10007 onboard air system. Pics will be coming. I hope to finish tomorrow. I have Firestone, the best in my opinion. Look for a thread on install w/pics soon.

Let me know how the onboard air sytem works out. I am still weighing options on that. Looking forward to pics and review.

Is there a reason that the bags would be a better choice than the Timbrens? or is it just preference? I know Timbren makes virtually all compression weights of poly and there is no bag to leak.

Looking at the instructions for the 2071 kit it looks like it requires drilling. Is there an advantage other than it's cheaper? I'd prefer not drilling holes in my frame.

Not sure what you are talking about. The Firestone part #2535 is for F250/350 w/diesel and is no drill. The picture of the airbag setup you see on the box is not really how they are configured.

If you are talking about Timbrens, then I'm sure someone will be able to clear that up for ya.

The $256 kit that was being referenced above is the 2071 and requires drilling. The 2535 is no-drill and is $299. I was wondering if there were any significant advantages to the 'drilling required' version of the kit.

The Timbrens are a replacement for the stock suspension limit bumpers - they unbolt and are replaced with a bracket and the Timbren Poly spring (bolt up takes 20 Min's for the rear) - really quite ingenious, also they don't need to be inflated or deflated, and do not affect the quality of the factory ride whatsoever, and only are utilized when you have several inches of load sag. OK here's the deal....

This is how it was explained to me by the techs at sdtruckssprings.com (disclamer)

The 2535 is a no-drill and must be used if you currently have a in-bed fifth wheel or goose neck hitch on your truck. But you can also install the 2535 if you don't.

The 2071 requires drilling and is only for trucks that do not have a in-bed hitch. But if you decide to install a in-bed hitch later you can't with the 2071 installed.

So if you don't have a in-bed but may plan on installing one in the future you may want to consider the 2535 so you're covered....

I installed Firestone #2535. I have fifth wheel rails installed with the required bracket that attaches to the frame under the floor of the pickup bed. I don't have a gooseneck setup or the B&W system. Just plain fifth wheel stuff.

Do you have a short bed or long? I just ordered the 2535 from autoanything.com in case I even install a fifth wheel hitch. But with a F250 you are limited on the hitch weight.
