Nice truck Cuellar23, looks pretty straight and for a reasonable price. The Uni's are getting harder to find around here also.

I finally decided to cut down my 61 long bed to a short bed. Just couldn't find a short bed truck worth building, except for the one my Son bought.

I have seen several long to short bed conversions and all of them look wrong, none have the correct wheel base or wheel well placement as the original short bed truck.

I have spent a lot of time measuring my 63 short bed for comparison and found some interesting facts.

With some creative cut lines at key locations the bed can be cut down to the correct size and wheel well placement making it an undetectable modification. The only giveaway is having a 2nd torque box instead of one.

The bonus to this modification is rust issues can be addressed at the same time by cutting panels at affected area's.

I will start a build thread shortly with photo's

Just snooping around today, You guys have some nice trucks and some nice projects started also.

Back in the late 70's I had a 61 Unibody that had been converted to 4x4. After seeing your photo's I want another.

Cheers

Hello Tim Im Vic from Northeast Washington. About 6 months ago or a little longer ago there was a uni 4wd for sale on CL down in SW Washington around the Mt Rainer area. Thing it was kind of a bluish or blue green color with a primered hood. Any chance that may have been your old one?

After the pic is posted the curser will or should be sitting at the end of the pic url. Just hit enter to drop a line a type what you want. Hit enter a few more times to leave a space between pics. Hope that helps.
