Wink Flywheel Problems

Hello all, I have a 1986 f150 that someone in the past has put a 1976 300 six in. The engine runs great, but was shaky, and after investigating a little I found that it had the wrong flywheel on it. It has one originally from a 289 V-8 on it so you can imagine how bad it was shaking. I don't know why they installed a different flywheel when doing the engine swap. It does still have the original bellhousing from the 86 model.

Anyway, my problem is I'm not sure what flywheel I need to use. I could get one for a 76 and I know it would work, but all of the ones I have seen so far call for an 11" clutch, but I really would like to have a flywheel that would work with a 10" clutch because I already have a new 10" clutch set. An 86 model flywheel works with the 10" clutch, but I'm not sure if it is the same balance or if something was changed that would cause it not to work. I am trying to avoid having to buy another clutch if I can.

So, my question is does anyone know of a problem that would prevent me from using a 1986 300 flywheel and 10" clutch on a 1976 engine?

The 300 was internally balanced for it's entire run. Therefore, the 86 flywheel should work fine.

That is what I was thinking. Thanks for verifying.
