Thats where the '84 hippy van(6.9 Diesel) comes into play since it was too good to tear apart. That will probably end up with a Dana 60 under the front of it.

 

This is a similar reason for my comments about building a prerunner. I too am building a crew, but with a nice 440 and a winch. Nobody here will ever see it, though, as it is a dodge Sorry, I am not really brand loyal, but more like "vintage loyal" If it is old and worthless, then I lust after it

yea, I dig the green, I don't often see it. Another thing I don't often see is a 2-tone without the roof line the same color as the bottom. I usualy see "middle" white, the bottom green/ blue/ brown..whatever, and then the roof to match.

Sort of recent:


I literally found it in a field. I was looking for a ford crew to put on my reg cab frame, but couldn't. Today, I own 2 old crews The dodge and the ford. Plans for the dodge are the 440, twin stick 205, 60 front and 70 rear. Oh, and a deuce and a half winch

I dig those old Dodges, lots of cool body lines with pleanty of character. Good luck with the restoration. Keep us informed!

 

Cool truck - I was looking at one of those a while back. I already had my Ford crew though and really didn't need yet another truck. They are different and cool for sure!

 

I love your truck, and the color too..> I have a grabber blue maverick...they don't put colors on newer vehicles anymore like in the 70s (ok grabber blue is back, but generally speaking)...engine is nice too..

needs more lift in the back...looks like it's sagging. I understand that I think you're going for the pre-runner thing, but it looks like a lifted truck that's sagging in the rear....only my opinion of course

I was thinking of cutting the fender to help clear a set of 37's on mine

yea, the prerunner look has the front sittin higher, from what I've heard from some old skool racers was, you put the front higher because the engine weight will want to copress the front down hard on landings and such. That way you're not bottoming out, or coming close to any rocks or ruts with your cross members and exhuast, and your tranny pan.
Right now, I still need to get some new leaf springs, I would like to have the rear 1 to 1.5" higher in rear (loaded). Right now if I loaded her up, the *** would be waay down, I pulled the overload to get a better ride out of it.
The front and rear fenders were just trimmed, I didn't roll the edges. I still need to pull the bedsides out a bit. I'm not sure what "panel shaking" is, but I probably didn't do that either!!

Did you say 4" lift? I thought they only make a 3", and a 16" kit? Also, how do you think the 3" kit would make the truck sit? That is what im worried about, i want to level my truck cause the front is like 2-3" lower than the rear, but i do haul stuff like firewood, stuff to the dume, dirt, gravel, and i dont want the front to be higher than the rear. But yeah, i was looking at the 3" kit. How does a truck with stock rear suspension sti with it?
