Gotta ask on your Thule cargo box, are you using the Excursion crossbars?

Yes - factory roof bars with spacers under longer rail bolts. Works great.

How is the EX's new home coming along?
Progress has been slow but steady. The heat has slowed me down, I try not to do much when it's 90. I'm done with being on the roof by 10:30 AM, too hot for me. Everything requires numerous trips up and down the ladder. There are 46 2X6 rafters for each overhang, had to average 4 trips each up and down between measuring, testing, fitting, nailing, dropping tools, forgetting tools, etc. Been a good exercise regimen, lost 20+ lbs already!

These were taken this evening. Doors are 12X10, celing about 13'8" , overhangs are 10' between wall and poles and around 10' high. Building is 40 wide X 44 deep. I'm really enjoying the project! Starting shingles in the AM, a mere 90 bundles.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Somewhat of a surprise with all of the incredible modified x's on here that you think mine looks nice - it is appreciated.

This will be its maiden voyage for us since buying it in january. Will probably turn over 46,000 miles before we get back!

That new garage is looking great Eric! Thanks so much for making it deep enough to fit my trailer, that was very nice of you.
Watch the hard work in this heat, we ain't getting any younger. Slow and steady wins the race.

Wow I like your building but don't envy the work you have to do. Thanks for linking me here.

Sometime I just need to remind myself how women think.....
Speaking of how women think....

A conversation with my wife last sunday:

Me: we need to run by Walmart so I can the oil and filter I need for your car.

Her: you're changing the oil again? You just changed it....

Me: Yes, 5,000 miles ago.

Her: Well if you think it needs to be changed that often. I usually just change it once a year....

Me: *Stare of shock with mouth wide open*

Her: What? Why are you looking at me like that?

Wow, ice and water shield on the entire roof? Well at least you won't get a leak even if the shingles blow off. How come you didn't upgrade to the architectural shingles? They are only a tad bit more money and so much stronger. Awesome job so far. So jealous..

That is synthetic roofing underlayment. (Grace Tri-flex) MUCH better than tar paper. It's survived a T-storm last week with 50+ MPH winds and no leaks or even a hint of tearing off. Rated for 6 months exposure without shingles which will help as it's going to take a while to get the shingles done. It's a really nice product, tho a bit pricey @ 11 bucks a square. Attaches with plastic cap nails.

The shingles are OC architectural shingles.

I've made the same face many a time. One of the best was when i put 3 quarts in a 5 quart engine to even get it to show on the dip stick...JUST TO SHOW!!

Friday I drove from Clovis, NM to Abilene, TX - and the X decided to blow the radiator along the way... Fortunately my friend I was going to see works for Advanced Auto and had one in stock, and a thermostat set (for good measure)

when we started at 6pm

When we finished at about 10pm

Drove down to see him and show him the RX7, he did most of the wiring on it.
