Finally did the brakes with Hawk pads and new stainless brake lines. I was pleasantly surprised by the improved stopping power and lack of brake fade that we’ve been used to.

Do you have a link for the door seals? Thanks

Finally got around to the Cruise Control/brake link fix. My cruise control is happy again. It was still the factory installed (and recalled) part. It held up for 2 months short of 20 years.

Next up -- pulling the dash face to replace all of the bulbs in the instrument cluster. Not one of Ford's better ideas....

This is where I got mine, but the price has gone up a bit since I got mine. Fair warning, shipping is expensive. The seal is pretty heavy.

That part number 3C3Z-2520708-AA is for the newer weather strip introduced in 06, it fits just fine and seals really well. maybe shop around on that part number for a better deal

Major failure on the 300 mile tow home from Lake Ontario today.
In the 9 years we have owned it and over 42K heavy towing miles logged this is the second most serious failure after the fuel pump a few years ago.
Drivers side rear turn signal bulb burned out.
I don't know if I should fix it or just give up, keeping this thing on the road is just eating up all of my time.

.

I think that I may fix it and carry on.

Idk man, that sounds pretty serious, think you should pull the plug and move on. I mean, a new f350 with the 6.7 will tow your trailer pretty nicely

How about a new F-450 cab chassis with the new 7.3 gas engine? That's where my mind has been wondering lately..........

Lol, that'll work too. I was hoping the 7.3 would make more power but I guess it is enough. And I'm sure they'll update it in 2 years with another 25 or so hp.

I tow a lot of trailers. One of the best mods ever was a back up camera!

Cut your losses and part it out. I'll take the remaining good rear turn signal bulb if you'll throw in those 18" wheels.

I bought a for sale sign for my 2001 ex/xlt/4x4/5.4 with 107K...… Because I bought a new to me 2001/4x4/limited/V10/3.73 rear-end with 85K. What a smile it put on my face with the power difference unloaded. Can't wait to pull our TT with this beast. It has been lifted at least 4" and has 20" wheels... questions to come
