Thank You! Brien, you really said it all- end of discussion. How is it possible that we have so many erudite, clear-thinking people such as yourself in this country (regardless of political leanings), yet we manage to elect so many idiots as our leaders? The ultimate rhetorical question, I suppose...

Things I hate...

I would like to hate a few things, but I don't seem able.
I would like to hate the people who complain about me having fun.
I would like to hate the fools in marketing who are conning the public into buying junk.
I would like to hate a whole mess of things.

Theo.

Well Theo it took me along time to work the hate type feelings out of my system, years actually but when you realize that it is a totally self consuming process it motivates you to see the truth and focus your energies on things that matter. I had to forgive alot of people from things that had inflamed me from experiences from years earlier. It, is actually, a very enabling process because it allows you to completely erase the long blackboard of bad experiences that we have been recording in our memory and allows us to start our life over in one respect and unload a very heavy burden that we shouldn 't have to haul around with us. fd

Could you tell me specifically what it is you don't like about " liberal politics?" Don't tell me that they're all a bunch of jerks, or you just don't like 'em, or because Rush says so- tell me specifically what you disagree with. Just once I'd like to see it spelled out here.
Do you think people on this site are a bunch of bumpkins and can't articulate their beliefs?

I'll tell you what I hate. Liberal politics.

I hate the government thinking they know better than I do what to do with my money. The thing that made this country what it is today is hard work. People used to work hard to get ahead in life and to make a better life for their children. Now everyone expects the government to take care of everything for them. Common sense tells us that government can never be as efficient as people in the private sector yet every year government has grown when under Liberal leadership. Look at the state run economies of the former Warsaw pact. Look at North Korea. Look at Europe for Pete's sake. They are not even socialist but they are falling farther and farther behind us in terms of per-capita GDP.

Here's a message to every hard working American: Work Harder. Millions on welfare depend on you!

I hate the government passing thousands of anti-gun laws that don't work. The places with the most restrictive gun laws have the highest crime rates. Message to Liberals: Criminals don't care! They are by definition "Criminals" Vermont which has no prohibitions against any adult carrying a handgun concealed or otherwise has the lowest crime rate in the country. California and New York which are both almost impossible for a private citizen to get a permit to carry a handgun, to defend themselves and their families, in have the highest crime rates. How much sense does that make?

Those are my two big gripes with Dems in particular and "Liberals" in general. Bring on the flames

This is an interesting topic. With all the hate in the world I'm surprised the list is so short. For the most part I believe some of you probably hate everything but yourself. Because we are a nation of have whatever we want when we want in whatever quanities we want it, I think it breeds the hate. Because if you didn't have something you wouldn't hate the baggage that comes with it. I could say I hate everyone of you (EVEN THOU I DON"T) for the simple fact you're in my way when I'm driving down the road. Don't you hate when someone gets in your way at your job? I can think of only a few things I could use the word hate in and truely mean it. I hate when I screw up. I'm kind of a closet perfectioness. And I really hate ALL professionals, from politicians to athletes that get the pass card for criminal behavior. Oh and one last thing, I hate it that profiling is not allowed.

YES!!! And then they flip YOU off because you didn't let them into the lane and forced them to drive in the gravel! LOL, which I think is gunny.. Ugh, times like those I wish there was a 50 cal. mounted on the roof of the truck. Fully rotatable. (if thats even a word)

Well I guess it's safe to say that there are a lot of things we all dislike, Guess we all have to learn to deal with them though... The things that upset me, I deal with them with a HUFF, or by just simply shaking my head (as if saying no without speaking) with a short sigh....I have found out responding with a SMILE to a lot of things makes me feel better, rather than letting it get my blood boiling, not to meantion it kinda throws some people off track....

If all the conseratives on here would drop the word liberal and just focus on the Word Politics as something you supposedly "HATE" or dislike you would actually become alot more accutely aware of Who is really screwing the American people. i.e....It's the major corporations that get laws put on the books that define how we deal with them and what our RIGHTS ARE to just compensation when they SCREW US ......Example.....The mortgage bankers , stock brokers , and CPA's who ALL collectively were screwing the average investors until they were exposed for the dirty SOB's that they were\are. Not a damn one went too jail ;in fact they didn't even admit any guilt. 1.4 billion in penalties which they gladly paid to be let off the Hook. One of the Major players was\is Mr. Weill who just happens to be head of the largest bank in the USA. Do you think the current administration is going to put HIM in jail. Hell NO...he gives TOO much money to the politicans , both democrat and republican to be held accountable for WHAT he DID. You conseratives are so busy pissing and moaning about liberals when you don't even know the correct definition of the WORD. Look at the CORRECT definition given here in an earlier post by brienobrien and then tell me that the word liberal still fits your incorrect characterization . The problem with conseratives nowadays is that you can't objectively analyze the CRAP coming from your own party that is Deleterious to ALL Americans. Liberals arenot the fundamental problem here. It's money from corportate donations that force a Quid pro QUO and corrupt otherwise Honest politicans that is the ROOT of the Problem. fd

You're splitting hairs. You and I know exactly what I mean when I say "Liberal". Would you prefer if I use the term "Politically left?" Whatever.

Yes the Dem's and the Republicans both are on the take to special interest. Big business is the major contributor to the Republicans and Big unions and to a lesser degree big business to the Democrats.

If I could change that I would but I can't. I have to side with the party that most closely represents my opinions. If the Libertarians had a chance in HE** I would vote for them but it would be a wasted vote.

I didn't intend to get into a political debate. I just resent the implied accusation that us conservatives are a bunch of country bumpkins that vote the way we do because we don't know any better or because Rush says so.

I know perfectly well what I'm voting for and why. Don't condescend to me.
