I have dual tanks, and I'm wondering if the in tank fuel pumps are the same? On rockauto's website, some models don't specify which tank they go to.
What I'd like to do is swap fuel pumps between the tanks (front pump is weak, rear tank is leaking) and just use the front tank. Will it work? Thank you!
What you are calling the pump is the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM).
Yes it is possible.
That is about what you have to do if you buy one from most auto part stores.
I wouldn't say it's "very hard" to disassemble the FDM.. it's a bit finicky but it's entirely doable. The "hangers" will swap as well.. easily, the FDM's are all the same.
