Spare Tire Conundrum

Spare Tire Conundrum
On my flareside 66 there is no provision ( as the truck came to me anyway....) for a spare tire. As I am Mr. Murphy's favorite guinea pig I would like to fix that.
I know I could just throw a mounted tire in the bed, although that could be a very easy thing to steal......
Are there kits to mount one inside the bed? I have seen older ford flaresides with a fender shaped in such a way as to mount outside the bed but I dont know if that was something that was available in 66 and I dont want to change my fender anyway.
Is there some sort of kit to install a under-the-bed style on these trucks?
Is there a later year model whose under-the-bed system fits or could relatively easily be made to fit?
Thanks!
Aaron

I've seen (on here) guys that have retrofit newer crank-down spare tire holders under the rear of the bed. The stock setup was kinda bear of a bolt up affair (you're not getting it down without getting filthy). I plan on going the crank-route when I get to that point. If you use the search feature I bet you'll come up with some options.

That's what Carcrafter22 did on his. The search for "spare tire" in the 61-66 & 67-72 forums turned up 17 pages of results... Search & read & let us know what you decide.

The crank down spare tire holder was first offered in 1973 as an extra cost option.
Believe it...or not: From 1925 thru the 1970's: The spare tire AND the wheel were extra cost options.
On 1953/79 Flaresides, Ford offered an optional left rear fender that had a cutout where the spare tire could be mounted, the other option was mounting it under the bed.
