I am painting my engine parts ford red. Just curious what everyone else was doing. Post some pics if ya got em. I will be posting pics of my engine when i get it all back together.
Very nice. I didnt do any chrome on mine. I took all the parts off i could (as of yet anyway) and i sandblasted them. They cleaned up nice. I havent done the heads or block yet. I am waiting to get my new intake, cam, timing chain and headers before i paint the rest.
I had some extra yellow automotive paint and my truck is blue with a yellow strip on the bottom. Also I have waggon wheels painted yellow. I got them for $26 for the set. BTW you don't have to use high temp paint for the engine. I painted mine in 2003 and still looks pretty good.
mine is going to be a ford blue that i got from Advanced Auto Parts.
its going it be mostly blue with a black and chrome air cleaner and black headman headers....
My engine block is painted the darker blue and my water pump is painted aluminum. A couple of years ago when I was running cast iron heads I had them rebuilt and I took the time and cleaned them up real good, taped them off, primered and painted them aluminum. They tured out real nice and looked pretty sharp with the blue block. I also painted all the brackets black. Now the main colors of my engine are blue, aluminum, chrome and some black.
Everytime I see your pictures I makes me think when I was 9 years old going to pick up Dad's new 77 F-150. I remember the salesman opening the hood and going over where everything was at. It looks identical to a "T". Talk about memory road....
