I rotated my tires today on my '08 and was surprised to see some surface rust forming on some components. My truck has only been through one winter.
Both radius arms had rust forming at the seem at the bottom of each arm as well as the outboard surface of each arm.
I also noticed some forming on the bottom spring of the leaf spring packs in the back. Furthermore the pipe between the DPF and the resonator was covered in rust, yet the rest of the exhaust system looked nearly pristine.
I promptly covered all of it in Fluid Film to stop the rust progression. Have you guys noticed similar rust issues? Any other spots I should be looking for?
Where u live what do they use on the road during winter? I know here they use some new chemical that's supposidly earth friendly. They mix it with salt. Dont hurt the plants or animals. I dont remember what its called. But in my opinion its runsting the vehicles more and eating away at the pavement. If u dont wash the vehicle at least once a week it seems to rust worse.
