Instrument Panel Help

For the past few nights my ABS light has been flickering non stop I haven't hooked up a scanner to it to pull codes I just don't have the time right now. But tonight on my way home I saw that my speedometer was going crazy. I would be cruising 50 than would drop to 0 then start bouncing around and go back to 50. I read one symptom of the ABS light could be the Speed Sensor. Would the speed sensor also affect the speedometer too? My truck is 04 f-350

Umm, Yes. With out a scanner, an abs light on, your speedo going crazy is the tell tale sign of the rear sensor. The one on the rear pumpkin.

The abs sensor is also the speed sensor that sends the signal to your speedometer. You can try and clean it first. Some have done this with good results and others just opted to replace. Being a $15 part, it is no biggy to just replace with new.

That one unfortunately will require a deep cycle scan tool such as the Snap-On MT2500 or a dealership model. The basic OBD-II will not diagnose brake codes.
