A few spots would be a lot easier to deal with than having to deal with the entire yard.

True. I was really worried right after the snow melted, it looked horrible. I was worrying I was going to lose the whole damn thing.

That would be a PIA if you had to start fresh. I know because of the amount of yard that I had to put back in when we built the house. It took a few years for the grass to nicely grow in and blend with what was not damaged.

Yeah, that would suck. I'd just have new sod put in, if I had to replace it. Seeding it would be just too much work.

I used seed when I did mine. I just needed to make sure to do it a few days after the finish grading was completed so all that I had to do was rake it off and spread the seed. I forget how much I had to do, but it was close to 3/4's of an acre.

That is a LOT of seeding! I have about a 1/3 to a 1/2 acre, so it wouldn't be that bad. Either way would suck, losing the lawn.

Yeah it was a lot of seeding. Took me pretty much an entire weekend to get it accomplished and boy was I dragging when it was done.

When we did the construction on my house I started from scratch, and your right it took years for it to finally develop a good root system!

That's why sod is so nice! Pricey, but nice!

we debated sod too, but after all the expense of the construction we opted for grass seed!

Same here, grass seed was much much cheaper and easier to do, especailly while we were building.

I had no grass left anywhere, we only have a .22 acre corner lot so it was a mess!

I'll look for a picture when I get home and post it!

I can imagine what it looked like Steve when construction was completed. I have been on enough construction sites over the years.
