Well it took almost a year, but the body shop has finished my '49 F3 cab.
He did a real good job on it.
Still waiting for the front clip to get finished.
I've included a 'before' picture of the truck. It has been off the road since 1968. I hope to drive this F3 to the Penn. Truckstock this September.

Thanks guys, I'm hoping for good weather too. Won't be able to work outside or in the unheated garage on it until April at best. In the meantime I'm working on the window parts and upholstery down in my cellar.
The funny thing is, 48dev - the truck was originally painted red at the factory. Then it got a coat of black, then blue on top of that at some point more than 50 years ago. Meadow green is my new favorite...so that is what it became.

I'm doing something to work on my truck every day. The goal is to assemble & then drive it from Maine to Pennsylvania to meet Abe and other FTE members in September. It's still in 4,000 parts right now scattered all over the place, but I have already done one before and have learned a few things along the way.

The body shop's first attempt at mixing the paint was a couple of shades too light compared to the most common color we expect. The next try was perfect. My pictures above are a little deceiving, due to my poor camera skills. The actual daylight color in person is a bit more pastel and not as vivid as the photos. It matches Abe's color pretty well. If the body shop had shot the whole truck with the first attempt at mixing, I would have been stuck with one of those variations you mention. Glad he called me to come look at a sample before he went ahead! Tom
