ebpv help

My ebpv is now opening (or closing dont know really how it works) whenever it wants. I think it is the ebpv cause I hear a faint hiss from the engine bay and experience a loss of power. When the noise goes away; power comes back.

What I want to do is the ebpv -> exhaust brake mod, but need some help. I've been looking at some following writeups on the mod (thanks cuda) but still need some help. They say find the red wire coming from ?(dont know) and that is the one that you run to the switch in the cab. Are these the wires from the ebp switch near the hpop res or from the line that connects to the exhaust side of turbo housing?

Thanks guys- just want my power back and get a brake out of it

I believe the wire originates from the HPOP area... so they are the same wire.

I had this rigged up a few years ago, but I can't remember where I tapped into it now.

I finally found it. It is underneath the Y-pipe on the intake side of the turbo. The guy that owned the truck before me had some headlights mounted on the bumper and a switch in the cab for them. I just used one of those hots for the lights and ran it to the ebpv then mounted a ground to the intake.
It seemed to work ok. I had her out on the interstate doing about 75 and turned the switch on. After a couple of seconds it kicked on slowing the truck down. It didn't slow it down as quick as I thought it would. Should I let my foot off the gas or press the brake or both?
I want to check tomorrow when the engine is cold if this reduces some of my smoke on startup. She can clear out my section of the street when started up with all this smoke.

Overall I'm estatic
