Gear ratio???

I'm trying my hand at mud racing I have an '82 F-150 4X4 with a 460, C6, NP208 (thinking of going to the stronger but higher geared NP205) i'm running 38" tires on 9" rear and Dana 44 straight axel conversion up front, I currently have 3.50:1 gears; I need to go lower 4.11:1, 4.88:1 or anything in between?
Any mudracer's out there. What gears do you run?

Gear ratio???

Hi-
I know the 460's got torque but 38's with 3.50's damn i don't blame you. Ask Tellico Racing what he thinks. Find the formula for engine rpm with given final drive ratio and tire size then calculate where you need to spin the motor for the best run.
